Specialty Camps
Riding Camp and Sports Camp
We offer Specialty Camps for riding during the first two and last two weeks of the summer and sports camp the first two weeks of the summer to girls entering the 4th through the 11th grades.
Riding Camp
Ring Lessons - Trail Rides - Stable Management - River Rides
For horse lovers! Excellent instruction in English riding is given at every level. Campers receive 3 to 4 hours of instruction daily with a riding lesson and stable management class every day and a trail or river ride on alternate days. We maintain the highest standards in teaching and safety.
Ring Lessons - After a riding evaluation by our Equestrian Director, campers are assigned a horse which best suits their ability. By
following the expert instruction of the riding counselors, campers will discover how easy it is to walk, trot and canter with confidence. More advanced riders will learn jumping fundamentals.
Trail Rides - Skills are expanded as campers enjoy miles and miles of trails winding through the beautiful West Virginia hills on our 600 acres.
Stable Management - Part of the daily program includes the care, fitting of tack, bathing, grooming and braiding of the camp's 70 horses. The older girls learn to lunge and long rein. We also provide demonstrations from the farrier and other equestrian specialists.
River Rides - Just plain fun - swimming the horses in the river!
